Rate for Experienced Welders: $18.00 to $28.00/ hour based on years of experience

As an experienced welder you will work with a variety of materials here at ConservIt. The ideal candidate will work steadily on his/her own with minimal supervision and will often work in a team environment too. Taking directions and giving instructions to others are essential skills we are looking for in a prospective candidate like you.

SUMMARY:

The Experienced Welder has experience with a variety of materials to fabricate new parts, equipment, construction elements and more. Will be responsible for skillful handling of many types of metal and numerous fabrication tools; working independently and with teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

In order to perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.   • Education and/ or Experience: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), five or more years related experience, and/or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience required. Experience must be in construction, or industry atmosphere. Knowledge of industrial safety (OSHA and EPA regulations.)
  • Language and Communication Skills: Ability to read, write and interpret in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Valid Driver’s License with good record required.
  • Physical Demands: “Heavy”: Exerting up to 50lbs of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Standing, walking, stooping and bending required often. Must be able to see, listen and respond to dangerous situations.
  • Work Environment: Usually working outdoors with occasional work indoors or working in various weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts repairs and preventive welding maintenance service; maintains production facilities and quality control by ensuring reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment; provides repairs of production equipment , plant facility scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Complies with OSHA safety/ health rules.
  • Able to use equipment such as torches, gas powered welders, mig welding, flux core and a plasma cutter.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance checks.
  • Assist in the regular cleanup of the maintenance area.
  • Wear proper safety equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designated manager.
