SUMMARY:
Perform an array of functions that include receiving, weighing and processing incoming metals and materials, greeting customers, and inspecting received materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Education and/ or Experience: High school diploma required. One to three months related experience, and/or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience required. Previous recycling or metals experience a plus. Computer skills required
- Language and Communication Skills: Ability to read, write and interpret in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must be able to give clear verbal communications over 2-way radios.
- Physical Demands: “Heavy”: Exerting up to 75lbs of force occasionally, or up to 40lbs of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Requires six or more hours of intermittent standing or walking in an eight-hour day. Sitting may be required intermittently and occasionally. Stooping, climbing and bending required frequently. Must be able to see, listen and respond to dangerous situations.
- Work Environment: Usually working outdoors with occasional work indoors or working in various weather conditions. Working frequently in close proximity to moving heavy equipment and traffic. Must wear PPE. Valid Driver’s License required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct/ assist customers/trucks in weighing delivered materials and metal.
- Inspect inbound scrap metal to ensure quality and safety compliance
- Notify supervisor or appropriate personnel of any unacceptable items
- Operate scales and Century 21 ROM software
- Verify and process auto titles.
- Meet and greet customers as well as provide clear and specific processing instructions.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment/job site.
- Wear proper safety equipment, including hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designated manager.
