The following items will not be accepted by ConservIt:
- Hybrid vehicles with the batteries still in it (Batteries must be removed and verified before purchase)
- Any items containing hazardous and/or radioactive material
- Tires (unless attached to a vehicle for scrap)
- Closed and/or sealed containers or cylinders
- Garbage, rags, paper, or other non-metallic items
- Hydraulic Cylinders (They must be cut in half, and drained – no exceptions will be made)
- Propane Tanks (They must be cut in half, spray painted fluorescent orange, with the valve stem taken out, no exceptions will be made)
- Electronic Scrap – printers, copiers, TV’s, computer monitors, etc.
- Capacitors
- Fluorescent Light Ballast (unless stated no PCB’s)
- Fluorescent Light Bulbs
- Mobile Homes/Campers
- Steel cable (must be cut into 5′ lengths or shorter)
- Power Tool Batteries
- Microwaves
- Tanning beds with glass and bulbs. (Will only take them completely stripped of non-metallic material.)
- Precious Metals (Gold, silver, platinum, palladium, etc.) Copper and brass accepted.
- Any shopping carts, manhole covers, guardrail, or rail of any kind will only be taken with official paperwork and prior approval – please call or stop into the office for details.
- Any items/appliances/equipment or vehicles containing CFC’S or HFC’S
