The Parts and Consumables Inventory Control Associate is responsible for maintaining and controlling inventory. The Associate will use the maintenance tracking software to manage all machinery/auto/equipment parts. This person is also responsible for managing the appropriate inventory for necessary supplies and materials in the supply room.

  • Education and/ or Experience: High school diploma or GED required. AA Degree preferred, or 5 – 7 years related experience, and/or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience required. Excellent computer experience including inventory tracking software required. Working knowledge of machinery/auto/equipment parts preferred.
  • Language and Communication Skills: Ability to read, write and interpret in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence with a strong attention to detail.
  • Physical Demands: “Moderate”: Must be able to exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally, or up to 25lbs of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Requires four or more hours of standing or walking in an eight-hour day. Sitting for occasional periods is required. Stooping and bending required occasionally. Must be able to see, listen and respond to dangerous situations.
  • Work Environment: Working indoors with occasional outdoor work in potential poor climate conditions.



  • Organize space given to handle inventory of machinery/auto/heavy equipment parts (ie: cylinders, gear boxes, motors, etc.).
  • Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity. Work with company officers, GM, directors, and purchasing agent regularly.
  • Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items received and enter into tracking software system.
  • Monitor consumables usage. Verify documentation and tracking is accurate of staff requests/needs.
  • Assist in resolving issues and conflicts related to supply discrepancies, price discrepancies, etc.
  • Evaluate and monitor contract and vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes. Communicate regularly with Purchasing Agent.
  • Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity. Plans ahead for staff needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with office staff, supervisors, vendors, suppliers and all other parties needing assistance with supplies and/or parts.
  • Receive, inspect, verify packages and deliveries; label, store, track, allocate, etc.
  • Occasionally use forklift for moving and/or organizing supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designated manager.
