OUR HISTORY
In 1974, the late Sidney Metzner and George Sellers III left executive level positions in the scrap metal industry to open their own business.
On the site that was once a 40 acre cornfield, Conservit Inc. emerged. Sidney and George wanted to provide a decent place to work and a beneficial retirement for their employees. They saw to it that their fellow workers enjoyed uncommonly generous employee benefits and an Employee Stock Ownership Program.
Today, Conservit is a company that is 100% owned by its employees. The stock ownership that each Conservit employee enjoys comes from the company through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. At this time Conservit employs over 100 employee/owners who have worked diligently throughout the years to demonstrate that “quality, service and integrity” are the keys to a successful business.
